The holiday season has come and gone, and now the new year is upon us. It’s primetime for making resolutions that you probably won’t keep, like losing weight or spending less money on shoes.
Well, here are some you should keep. These goals are what every salesperson should strive for, and 2017 is the perfect time to start taking steps towards achieving them.
Goal #1: Organize Your Life (Personal and Professional)
While the charming-yet-disorganized bachelor/bachelorette in movies is a long-loved stereotype, that doesn’t translate to real life. If you’re a mess, you’re just a mess and there’s nothing really cute about it. Organize your desk, your calendar, and your contacts. Never miss an important meeting or connection again!
Goal #2: Re-Introduce Yourself To Your Social Network
Your LinkedIn network is a pool of potential customers. Start saying hello, endorsing skills, and sending InMail. Download our Complete Guide To Generating Leads on LinkedIn (it’s free!) and it’ll show you everything you need to know.
Goal #3: Start Making Time For Yourself
“Work, work, work, work, work,” as Rihanna so eloquently put it. Being a salesperson can be all-consuming, but you still need to set aside time for yourself to do things you enjoy that aren’t work-related. It will actually help you be more productive in the long run! Take a weekend trip, go golfing- you have our full permission to do whatever makes you happy, as long as it’s not super creepy Silence Of the Lambs type stuff.
